Ahead of a new US administration taking office later this month, 91ÖÆƬ³§¹ÙÍø’s first international visit is to Las Vegas for the , bringing together innovative automotive businesses with global tech firms. The UK-US automotive relationship is indeed a special one – the US was the UK’s second largest export market in 2024 and it’s a significant destination for our suppliers, aftermarket providers and Britain’s own technology companies to do business.
Particularly in these changing times, it’s more important than ever that we build relationships around the world and help members to navigate markets. SMMTwill, therefore, be travelling across the pond more than once in 2025, with a visit to the in Alabama also planned.
As we go through the year, we look forward to returning to other countries with whom the UK automotive sector has important relationships – among them Thailand, for our third pavilion at , and Czech Republic, with another supply chain-focused delegation to . One new market for us this year, however, will be Kazakhstan – the largest car market in Central Asia with significant vehicle production of its own.
Back at home, we will be welcoming an international delegation to this March, which will be attended by UK government representatives discussing our country’s shift to zero emission mobility and the significant opportunities it offers to international businesses like yours.
