Pall-Ex national HQ gets go-ahead

16 Oct 2025

Logistics network Pall-Ex has been given the go-ahead for the construction of a new group headquarters and freight distribution hub in Leicestershire.

The company鈥檚 new Centre of Excellence in Bardon will cover 408,000 sq ft, with an additional 100,000 sq ft of canopy space, on a 14.2-hectare site.

The 拢80 million facility will serve as the flagship logistics hub for the network and will house Pall-Ex鈥檚 UK and European headquarters.

It will also be built to exceptional Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards, aiming for Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) A+ and Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology (BREEAM) Excellent accreditation.

To achieve the highest rating of EPC A+, the new hub will incorporate a variety of energy-efficient and eco-friendly features, including electric vehicle charging stations, solar panels and designated green spaces.

Once complete, it will be the first purpose-built facility in the pallet network sector in the UK to be energy self-sufficient.

Commercial property developer and investor Barberry鈥檚 planning application for the site was approved by Hinckley and Bosworth District Council earlier this month.

The development is expected to create about 500 construction jobs and an estimated 534 permanent jobs

Kevin Buchanan, Pall-Ex Group Chief Executive Officer, said: 鈥淥ur new, multi-million-pound, cutting-edge Centre of Excellence isn鈥檛 just about expansion and growth 鈥 it鈥檚 about redefining the industry through technology, quality, and state-of-the-art infrastructure.

鈥淎s a market leader, we are immensely proud to unveil plans for premises that will be A+ rated, carbon-neutral, and built for the future.鈥
