Contrasting recovery trends in April’s registrations
 
·         Registrations: 17,387 in April; 225,799 for the rolling year, down 21.3%.
·         Trucks: 2,496 in April; 31,951 for the rolling year, down 35.9%.
·         Vans: 14,891 for the month; 193,848 for the rolling year, down 18.2%.

 

“UK van registrations rose in April, continuing the welcome growth over the first quarter of 2010,” said Paul Everitt, chief executive at the 91ÖÆƬ³§¹ÙÍø. “Demand for trucks is still running well below pre-recession levels and continues to reflect weak demand and a lack of business confidence. As our new government establishes itself, the priority must be sustaining and strengthening the economic recovery with particular focus on encouraging the availability of more and better-priced finance.”
