“2008 continues some of the encouraging trends of last year but the industry is wary of economic pit-falls ahead”, said Paul Everitt, SMMTchief executive. “The lighter end of the bus market has seen the best growth in recent years and this seems to be holding. Stability also seems the watchword in both the big bus and big coach sectors, after unexpectedly good registrations last year.”
