Logistics UK and Loughborough College form training partnership

Logistics UK has launched a new partnership with Loughborough College Group鈥檚 Stephenson College, with the aim of boosting the number of HGV technicians entering the transport sector.

The collaboration will deliver Level 3 HGV Technician Apprenticeships at the college based in Coalville, Leicestershire, which was recently named a Centre of Excellence for technical and professional training.

Stephenson College 鈥 an apprenticeship provider with more than a century of experience in technical education 鈥 offers training across motor vehicle, HGV, forklift engineering, motorsport and other sectors, supported by longstanding industry partnerships.

Meanwhile, Logistics UK is a government鈥慳pproved apprenticeship provider and supports employers with advice on apprenticeship funding, levy use, and tailored training programmes.

David Jordan, deputy operations director at Logistics UK, said: 鈥淏y combining Logistics UK鈥檚 proven apprenticeship delivery capabilities with Stephenson College鈥檚 renowned expertise in delivering technical and trade courses at the Logistics UK Academy, we are confident that we can start to deliver the capable, confident candidates the sector needs.
