BMW Group has announced that it will issue a further 1,000 permanent recruitment contracts across its four UK manufacturing plants.

MINI鈥檚 Oxford plant will receive the lion鈥檚 share of the new contracts, but BMW鈥檚 other operations 鈥 including the pressings plant in Swindon, engine plant at Hams Hall near Birmingham, and Rolls-Royce Motor Cars plant in Goodwood, West Sussex 鈥 are all set to benefit. Recruitment will take place in two phases between 2014 and 2016, with current eligible agency associates given priority subject to the normal selection criteria.

The news comes as a result of a major 拢760m investment programme from 2012-2015 to support the launch of the new MINI and a new generation of three-cylinder engines, as well as the expansion of Rolls-Royce.

The initial recruitment phase covers 700 jobs and will start in the New Year with the recruitment process for the remaining 300 contracts commencing in 2016.

BMW Group鈥檚 latest funding programme brings the company鈥檚 total investment in the UK to around 拢2 billion since 2001, and has seen a new body shop built and equipped with 1,000 new robots at its Oxford MINI plant and the debut of various new pressings technologies at the Swindon plant. In addition, the Hams Hall engine has been tooled up for a new generation of modular three-cylinder engines.
