All-electric Renault trio on show at 91ÖÆƬ³§¹ÙÍø
23 Mar 2012The latest exhibit on show at SMMTis a trio of Renault electric vehicles from the company’s Z.E. range – Fluence Z.E., Kangoo Van Z.E. and Twizy – celebrating the selection’s presence in the new car market place.
The three vehicles will be sold independent of the battery, which is leased through Renault Finance. The contract package includes a guaranteed level of battery performance, regardless of vehicle age or mileage, as well as peace-of-mind roadside service. The Kangoo Z.E. and Fluence Z.E. have a range of around 100 miles, and the Twizy about 65 miles.
The ‘on-the-road’ entry level price for the vehicles on show ranges from £6,690 to £17,495, with monthly battery rental spanning £45 to £133 depending on mileage and length of term.
Government’s renewed commitment to ultra-low carbon vehicles was welcomed earlier in the year by SMMTfollowing the announcement in January that the Plug-In Car Grant will be retained, with a new Plug-In Van Grant created – reducing the cost of eligible vans by 20% up to the value of £8,000.
Speaking after the announcement, Paul Everitt, SMMTChief Executive said, “The Plug-In Car Grant and the new Plug-In Van Grant send a strong signal to the global automotive industry about the UK’s determination to be a leading market for ultra-low carbon vehicles.”
